WASHBURN SCHOOL DISTRICT CURRICULUM

The Washburn School District reviews and updates our curriculum to meet and exceed the expectations mandated by the state while embracing our unique culture and history of Washburn.  For an overview of the Wisconsin Academic Standards from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, please select this link:  https://dpi.wi.gov/standards.  For more specific information on each grade level and course, please check out our web-based program called Building Your Own Curriculum (BYOC).

BYOC provides access to individual courses, units of study, and topics within those courses which are linked to academic standards. The database can be searched by subject area and/or grade level. When you visit Washburn’s Build Your Own Curriculum site you may notice courses marked "Being Revised." This reflects ongoing curriculum work in the Washburn School District.  Because curriculum is often reflected upon and revised, courses will at times not be available to the public through Build Your Own Curriculum.  As soon as the updates are made, they again will become public.

If you have any questions about the elementary curriculum please contact the classroom teacher for that grade level or Ms. Ivy Meierotto, the Elementary Principal at imeierotto@washburn.k12.wi.us, 715-373-6199 ext. 209.  If you have any questions about the middle school or high school curricula please contact the classroom teacher for that specific curricular area or Mrs. Heidi King, the Middle School/High School Principal at hking@washburn.k12.wi.us, 715-373-6188 ext. 133.

Do you need help in navigating through BYOC? Please click on this link for a tutorial. Then scroll down to the “Public Website Demo”. This demonstration provides overview for families, students, and the community.  It will help guide users on how to use BYOC and obtain the information they are seeking.
