Northwood Technical College Promise Scholarship

The Northwood Tech Promise Scholarship, funded by the Northwood Tech Foundation, provides free college tuition to students attending Northwood Tech for area high school graduates who meet program eligibility requirements. The Promise Scholarship will pay the balance of tuition and fees for eligible students after federal grants, state grants and Northwood Tech Foundation Scholarships are applied. Tuition will be covered up to four terms (pending eligibility requirements each term).

Chequamegon Bay Arts Council Scholarship

Chequamegon Bay Arts Council is offering a $1000 scholarship to a graduating Senior.  Here is more information:

The purpose of these scholarships is to acknowledge the past accomplishment and future promise of high school graduates who will enter a field of study leading to a career in the arts.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be a high school senior graduating in spring 2022.
  • Reside and attend high school in Ashland or Bayfield County.
  • Plan to enroll in a higher education course of study leading to a career in visual, literary, or performing arts.
  • Submit all materials described in the application form.

Ashland Bayfield County Sportsmen Scholarship

The Ashland Bayfield County Sportsmen will be awarding a $500 scholarship to one qualified Bayfield County senior.  The deadline is April 30, 2022.  Applications are in the counseling office.

Eligibility:

  • 2.7 GPA or higher
  • Pursuing a degree at a Community, Technical College or University.
  • Must support conservation ethics.

Must  have a current hunting or fishing license.  May include Tribal permits

Midland Services

The Midland Services, Inc. Scholarship is a $500.00 scholarship available to all Cooperative members and their children who have completed one semester at an accredited college, university, or technical college.  Four of these scholarships will be awarded annually.  For more information, please see the Midland Services Scholarship Program Guidelines.

The Dan Hagen Memorial/Midland Services Scholarship

The Dan Hagen Memorial/Midland Services Scholarship was started in 2013 to honor the life and commitment of Dan Hagen, a beloved Midland employee.  Dan placed high value on education and his memory and values live on through this scholarship.  This scholarship is available for attendees of Northland College in Ashland, WI.  For more information, please see the Dan Hagen Memorial Scholarship Guidelines.

Friends of the Washburn Area Ambulance Scholarship

Friends of the Washburn Ambulance Service is once again offering a scholarship to graduating seniors entering the medical field. Stop into the Counseling Office for an application. Deadline: May 5th.

Volavka Service Award

The Washburn Community Education Foundation (WCEF) has established an award for one graduating senior who has completed four years of service learning projects that have significantly impacted the Washburn community. This award is funded by a gift from Bill Volavka and is intended to promote ingenuity, stewardship, and good works. This is a cash award available to any graduating senior, whether seeking further education or not. The student selected will have his or her name announced at the graduation ceremony, receive a check for $1000, and have their name added to a Volavka Service Award plaque at Washburn High School. Stop by the counseling office for application.

Class of 2023 Scholarship Opportunity

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help students graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $48,000 and other benefits over four years to attend college. Theeligibility criteriahas been updated to make the scholarship accessible to more students:

  1. Must have achieved a 3.5 GPA
  2. Must rank in the top 20% of the high school graduating class
  3. Must have a genuine financial need to attend college

The average Hagan Scholarship Recipient is ranked 9th in a class of 107 students. Finalists that are not awarded a scholarship receive $1,000. It is not unusual to award multiple scholarships to students attending the same high school.  There is no application fee.
